Catholic Schools in Belize are falling apart. We need your help.

THE WHY BEHIND THE RIDE

The Lighthouse Ride: Support Children & Catholic Education in Belize

In Belize, there are 432 buildings that house 32,000 students in 112 Catholic schools. And every one of these schools is in utter disrepair.

Children are being educated in buildings infested with termites, swarmed by bats, and caving in from flooding. These buildings are unfit environments for learning.

The Lighthouse Ride is our hope to raise funds and awareness for Catholic education in Belize.

About the Ride

Belize City is home to Baron Bliss Lighthouse, a historical structure dating back to the 19th century. The lighthouse in the beautiful country inspired the name, the Lighthouse Ride.

The idea is for Father Matthew Ruhl and other supporters to cycle from Brunswick, ME to Santa Monica, CA starting on July 1, 2025, to raise funds and awareness for the Catholic education system in Belize
